Lois Carolyn Thomas, 71, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. Born on August 7, 1942 in Palmer, Tennessee. Lois enjoyed riding in the mountains and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Aley Turner; brother, Jerry Turner and Oscar Turner Jr; sisters, Opal Pekala, Imogene Cannon, Eloise Tucker and Geraldine Smith. She is survived by her son, Richard (Richie) Thomas Jr of Dalton; son and daughter in law, Stacy and Lisa Thomas of Dalton; daughter Bunnie Cannon and special friend Jr Sanford of Dalton; the father of her children, James Richard Thomas; brother, Tony Turner of Dalton; grandchildren, Chris Thomas, Valarie Bozarth, Stacy Lee Thomas, Brandon Thomas and Jazzmin Cannon; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lois Carolyn Turner will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Flood and Rev. Raymond English officiating. Chris Thomas, Stacy Lee Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Justin Bozarth, Larry Cannon, Ronnie Tucker and Johnny Pekala, grandsons and nephews of Ms. Thomas will be serving as pallbearers. She will be laid to rest at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday October 11, 2013 and from 11:00 AM till 3:00 PM the hour of service on Saturday.
