Louis Nelson Carter, age 65, of Lafayette, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019. He was born on September 17, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Doris Carter; brother, Calvin Hess Carter; sister, Barbara Gate Godwin; and brother in law, Jerry Sims. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Jane Carter of Lafayette; sons, Louis Carter Jr of Lafayette, Christopher Carter of Lafayette, Jeffery Dunn of Varnell; daughters and sons in law, Rachel Holmes of Chatsworth, Melissa and Jacob Snatic of Louisiana, Virginia and Jerry Townsend of Tunnel Hill, Lisa Whaley of Chatsworth, Tonya Miller of Dalton; brothers and sisters in law, Samuel Carter, Daniel and Cindy Carter, Benny Carter, Bobby and Judy Carter, Kenny and Lisa Carter, L.C. Carter Jr; sisters, Linda Carter Sims, Karen Erik Roberson; grandchildren, Keisha Ashe, Spencer Long, Briar Carter, Preston Carter, Tallon Dunn, Tabron Dunn, Teagon Dunn, Savannah Holmes, Dawson Holmes, Katie Carter, Hunter Carter, Shelby Carter, J'Lynn Carter, Johnathan Carter, Austin Massengill, Joseph Miller, Angela Miller, Paxton Holcomb; and great granddaughter, Candace Williams. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Louis Nelson Carter will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Cochran and Bro. JR Williams officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
