Louise Francis Duke, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 20, 2026. Born on October 4, 1938, in Benton, Tennessee, Louise lived a life defined by her bold spirit and unwavering love for her family.
Louise was known for her fearless honesty and willingness to speak her mind. She embraced life with vigor and an open heart, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. One of her greatest joys came from her love of flowers, which brought beauty and peace to her surroundings, much as her presence did to those fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Her devotion to her family was a hallmark of her character. Louise was a loving mother to Clinton Duke, Labron Duke, Marcus Duke, and Susie Chadwick. She also lovingly remembered her daughters, Denna Duke, Shanda Duke, and Linda Duke, and her sons, Simon Duke and Jodee Duke, all of whom have predeceased her. Her legacy lives on through an abundant family that includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart and considered her favorite in their own unique way.
A member of the Church of God, Louise’s faith was an important aspect of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Louise’s remarkable life at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Avenue in Dalton, Georgia. A visitation will be held on May 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service from 3:00 p.m.
Louise Francis Duke’s boldness, love, and spirit have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love and respect by her surviving sons, Clinton, Labron, and Marcus; her daughter, Susie; her brother, James Stanbridge; and the extended family that surrounded her with affection.
May her soul rest in peace.
