It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Luther "Curtis" Cline Jr. Curtis was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend. He was affectionately known by his grandkids as "Papaw Big Butt" and during his many years of trucking he was known as "Gravedigger." Curtis, 64, was born in Detroit, Michigan but shortly after moved to Georgia where he spent his entire life. Curtis was proceeded in death by his parents Luther Curtis Cline Sr., Genevelyn and R.L. Mullinax. Mother and Father in laws Bill Bryant and Ruth Mitchell and Crawford and Elizabeth Powell, sisters Patricia Yates and Kathy Cline Driscoll, brother in laws Ricky Powell, Freddy Silvers, Crawford "Bubby" Powell. Adopted Grandson Damon Jace Ritter. Special friend and one of the only one he allowed to call him "Pops" Michael Robinson, as well as many other family members. Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Shirley Cline. Daughters and son in laws Carrie Gilbert and Steven Bryant, Gennie and Chad Knowles, and Philip and Amy Kemp. Step daughter Lynn Walden. Brother and sister in law Jay and Sherrie Cline. Grandchildren Kaylin and Justin Whitlock, Robin Gilbert, Robert "Bubba" Gilbert, Ashley Redmond and Fiancée Anthony Hernandez aka "my brown boy", Chloe Barnard, TJ, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Jacob Matthew Kemp, Alexis and Crystal Walden, Hailee and Abigail Utley. Special nieces affectionately known as his grandchildren Michelle and Aaron Webb and Tosha and Adam Overton. Great grandchildren which he absolutely adored Kayzleigh, Olivia and Jade Whitlock and Kingston Miolen. One great grandson on the way Brody Alexander Whitlock. Special sister in laws Rebecca "Becky" Silvers and Wanda Powell. Best friend Ronnie Flener. Many nieces and nephews and other family and friends also survive. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Luther "Curtis" Cline Jr. will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Josh Allen officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Dalton Funeral Home.
