Mary Janelle Planzer Ferguson, age 89, of Dalton, Ga. passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born February 10, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dovie Mae Duckworth Planzer; brother, Lowell Planzer. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Looper (Todd) of Dalton, Jo Ellen Shields (Jeff) of Dalton; sister, Sue Planzer Boyd (Earl) of Dalton; sister in-law, Iva Mae Planzer of Dalton; grandchildren, Jay Satterfield of Washington, D.C., Molly Satterfield of Dalton, Davis Looper of Dalton, Annabelle Looper of Dalton; great grandchild, Saylor Blue Patterson of Dalton; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Also, her lifelong friend Avis Gravely. The family would like to thank all of the special caregivers; Skipper McCollum, Kimberly Hernandez and Quinton Memorial. A private service to celebrate the life of Janelle P. Ferguson will be held Monday October 7. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery.
