Matthew Sweat, age 41, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, July 20, 2020. He was born on January 29, 1979. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Sweat. He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Darlene and Mike Smith of Dalton; son, Matthew Bryan Powell of Dalton; uncle, James Bates; and many friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Matthew Sweat will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 27, 2020 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Amspaugh officiating. Interment will be at Varnell Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Isaac Gentry, Jeff Michael, Robert Edwards, Brad Edwards, Jason Dalton, and Jason Talkington will be serving as pallbearers.
