Mattie R. Cochran, age 80, of Cohutta, Georgia passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. She was born on August 23, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cochran, SR; son, Edward Cochran; daughter, Mattie Cochran; parents, Ruben and Fannie Allmon; and a sister, Daisy Chastain. She is survived by her sons, William Cochran, JR of Dalton, GA, Lamar Cochran of Cohutta, GA, Roy Cochran of Cohutta, GA; brothers and sister in law, George Allmon of Chattanooga, TN, Roy Allmon of Chatsworth, GA, Bo and Tina Allmon of Summerville, GA; sisters and brothers in law, Clara Cochran of Dalton, GA, Linda and Ray Sutton of Subligna, GA, Carolyn and Rocky Ferguson of Subligna, GA, Teresa Middleton of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Shane and Samantha Cochran, Steven and April Cochran; great grandchildren, Emily Cochran, Kendra Cochran, Bethanie Cochran, Bryson Cochran, Gabby Cochran, CJ Cochran, Colter Cochran, Chloe Cochran, Carson Shepard; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mattie R. Cochran will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Parris officiating. Interment will be at Dug Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Wednesday evening.
