Born on October 27, 1969, in Dalton, GA, Michael lived a life marked by his love for family and the outdoors, embodying the spirit of a true outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and nature.

Michael was recognized for his warmth and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His generous heart and steady presence were a source of comfort and strength to his family and friends. Throughout his life, he embraced every role with deep affection, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

He is survived by his son, Zach Finney, and daughter, Madison Dyer, who carry forward his values and spirit. His father, Joseph Dyer, siblings, Daniel Dyer and Donna Dyer, mourn the loss of their beloved brother, while his granddaughter, Alyssa Morgan, and niece, Sheena Cress, remember him fondly as a guiding and loving influence in their lives.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Smith, whose memories he held dear.

A visitation to honor Michael's life will be held on April 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721. Following this, a funeral service will take place on the same day at 3:00 PM at the same location.
