Michael Phillips, age 51, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Rome, GA. He was born on July 20, 1967. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Billy Phillips; brother, Terry Phillips; grandparents, Paul and Jewell Keener, and Delthia and Bill Phillips. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Keener Phillips of Dalton; son, Michael Phillips of Calhoun; daughters and sons in law, Rendy and Allen Ball of Calhoun, Morgan and Joseph Langford of Chatsworth; grandson, Hayden Ellis; the mother of his children, Carlene Welch and her husband Johnny of Calhoun; aunt and uncle, Suzie and Lamar Newton of Chatsworth; aunt, Rosemary Queen of Dalton; and many cousins. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Michael Phillips will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Rusty Langford officiating. Interment will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
