Mildred "Moore" Cox, age 90, of Sugar Valley, Georgia passed away Tuesday February 7th, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 9, 1932 in Tenga, GA to James Park and Emma Moore. She was 1 of 12 children. She married Bobby Ray Cox in 1953 and had 4 children and raised a granddaughter as her own. Mildred had an unmatched work ethic and retired from Aladdin Mills as a supervisor of 40 years. She was also a charter member of Whitfield Baptist. Mildred was the glue to the family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sisters and listening to her gospel music. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Bobby Ray Cox, parents, James and Emma Moore, parents (in-laws), Albert and Hazel Cox, brothers: JT and Vee L Moore, Junior and Johnnie Moore, Farris Moore, Billy Moore, and sister, Grace and JB Summey, brother in laws: Melvin Stewart, Dallas Wallace, Floyd Edwards, John King: son in laws: Jimmy Johns, Michael Bramlett, Jerry Sneed, grandchildren: Erik Johns, Brandon Carter, and great grandchild Jaida Drew Johns. She is survived by her children: Ricky Cox, Sheila Johns, Cindy Bramlett, Charlene Sneed, Kristy and Robert Johnson, grandchildren: Lance Cox, Chad Carter, Danielle Carter, Ian and Becky Johns, Cameron and Cassie Sneed, Kristy Johns Gee, great grandchildren: Bre Johnson, Avery Johnson, Gabby Johnson, Jana Johns, Jaide Johns, Anna George, Jace Johns, Blair Johns, Tyler Johns, Jasper Johns, Jaylene Johns, Logan Carter, Lona Carter, London Carter, Ethan Sneed, Gage Sneed, Brother Bobby and Shirley Moore, Sisters: Emma Silvers, Betty and Paul Byrd, Joann Stewart, Sara Jane Edwards, Ruby King and special sister-in-law Arnold Whitfield and former daughter in law Donna Carnes. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred "Moore" Cox will be held in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Cofield, Brother Lamar Jenkins, and Nephew Darrell Cox to officiate. The family will be receiving family and friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Welcome Hill Cemetery.
