Millie M. Shampo, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. She was born on December 31, 1931 in Birchleaf, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Shampo; and her parents, Marion and Hadie Edwards. She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, David and Wilma Shampo of Tunnel Hill, GA, Tim Shampo of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; Daughter and son in law, Virginia and Stephen Austin of Calhoun, GA; brother, Lacey Edwards of Birchleaf, VA; sister, Naomi Owens of Birchleaf, VA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Millie M. Shampo will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Barson officiating. Interment will be at Dunagan Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 Pm on Tuesday evening.
