Nellie "Kat" Kathleen Officer, age 76, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023. She was born in Scottsboro AL. on April 30, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Officer; parents; father, Grady Julius Johnson and her mother, Nellie Elizabeth "Holcomb" Willis; brothers, Lloyd Johnson, Roy Johnson; sisters, Doris Golding, Ruby Oden, Flossie Goodner Thomas, Peggy Bean, Judy Young. She is survived by her sons, David M. Officer, Chris L. Officer, Floyd and Angel Officer; daughter, Kathy and Michael Fogie; grandchildren, Justin Officer, Kassey Rhodes, Hunter Officer, Christina Officer, Floyd Officer III; great grandchildren, Beau H. Officer, Chevelle, Delilah Officer, Axle Rhodes, Lilly Hufstetler, Stella Hillhouse, Coby Officer, Ethen Officer, Lucas Officer, Noah Officer, Logan Officer, Allison Officer and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nellie Kathleen Officer will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Lawhorne officiating. Interment will be West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.
