Obituary

Boone, Norma Nadine 1939 – 2020 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Norma Nadine Boone, of Dalton, GA, loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in her 81st year. She is survived by her son, Richard (Wanda) Boone of Dalton, GA; daughter, Faye Morris of Hawesville, KY; grandsons, David Boone of Dalton, GA and Justin (Ashley) Boone of Kennesaw, GA; granddaughter, LaDonna Howard of Lewisport, KY; great-granddaughters, Kristine Napier of Dudley, MA and Cierra Haynes of Lewisport, KY; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Kinzley, Gabriel and Benjamin; sisters, Maxine Anderson and Pauline Boone of Owensboro, KY; brothers, Bob Buck of Springport, IN and Delmar Buck of LaBelle, FL; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sam and Elsie Buck, and siblings, Dellas, Harold, Carlis, Orbry, Amos, Ima Jean, and Lorean. Nadine was born 1939 in Monticello, KY. She witnessed incredible changes to her world. As a young child she lived in Slickford, KY. Later her family moved to Owensboro, KY where she lived and worked until she moved to Dalton, GA in 1996. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, homemaker, and worker in healthcare and the retail sector. She always worked hard and was very proud of that. Nadine loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, enjoyed playing dominoes, and loved working jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite puzzle was a custom ordered collage of her family photos - all patience went out the window until it was finished. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion. Facebook was one of her joys because it helped her connect with family and friends. Most of all she loved her family and instilled strong values that have served them well. She was always a beautiful woman. She had a charismatic smile, a big heart full of love, and gave great hugs! She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. At her request, Nadine will be cremated and her remains will be taken to Buck Cemetery in Slickford, KY. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to one of Nadine's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S. Glenwood Ave. Dalton, GA 30721; 706-529-5371. MISS ME---BUT LET ME GO When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little—But not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared Miss me---But let me go. For this is a journey that we all take, And each must go alone. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me---But let me go.
