IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul Terry
Cross
May 23, 1948 – February 9, 2026
Visitation
Dalton Funeral Home
2:00 - 5:00 pm (Eastern time)
Paul Terry Cross, a beloved husband, father, PaPa, brother, and cherished friend, passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 23, 1948, in Dalton, Georgia, Paul dedicated his life to his family, faith, and work.
Paul graduated from Dalton High School and was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia. For two decades, Paul worked as a cost accountant for Shaw Industries followed by twenty years with Mohawk, where his meticulous nature and strong work ethic were respected and admired by his colleagues.
Beyond his career, Paul was known for his passion for sports, particularly football. He proudly served as a football official in northwest Georgia for 35 years. This passion for the game brought him immense joy and allowed him to share the thrill of competition with others. He also enjoyed playing cards, an activity that often turned into lively gatherings filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Paul’s greatest passion, however, was his family. He cherished his wife, Teri Cross, and was immensely proud of his children: Chris (Melodie) Cross of Tipp City, OH, D.J. (Alanta) Cross of Harker Heights, TX, Jimmy (Chrissy) Cross of Abilene, TX, and Nikki Cross of Santa Monica, CA. He was known as PaPa to his beloved grandchildren, Caleb Cross, Carlie Cross, Colt Cross, Drake Fewell, and Ever Fewell. Paul is also survived by his brother, Jerry Cross of Chatsworth, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Elmer "Hop" Cross and Bonnie Miolen Cross, who laid the foundation for his values and commitment to family.
The warmth, kindness, and generous spirit Paul brought into the lives of those around him will never be forgotten. He strived to live a life filled with love for God and family, leaving memories that will last for generations.
A visitation will be held on February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721.
