Paul Thomas “Tommy” Sampson, 53, was welcomed to his heavenly home on April 20, 2026.

Tommy was a man known for his kind heart, steady presence, and the rare ability to fix anything. Whether it was something broken or someone in need, he showed up without hesitation. He loved to laugh, had the best sense of humor, and a deep love for his family. He was a faithful attendee of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hyda Gean Rogers and his father, Paul Thomas Sampson; his son, Kameron Sampson; and his brothers, Colby and Reid Crawford.

Tommy is survived by the love of his life, Melissa Thurman, and his children, Ethan Sampson (Kylie Stapp), Chandler Sampson (Brittany), and Madison Thurman (Aubry Stanley). He also leaves behind Kinnady Payne (Ethan) and Austin Newton, his niece and nephew, who were loved as his own. He was a proud “Pops” to Dallas, Wrenlie, and Emmerie Sampson, and Hannlie Stewart, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his mom, Brenda Hair; his grandmother, Geraldine Sampson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Regina Ensley; his sisters, Lauren Dotson (Brett), Kacey Taylor (Tad), Ivalee Saylor (Ray), and Shomalee Stratton (Dale); his brother, David Ellsworth (Linda); and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mandy and Brent Newton.

Tommy will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom were touched by his generosity, loyalty, and fun spirit. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 23rd from Calvary Baptist Church in Crandall, Georgia at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23rd at Calvary Baptist Church from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Bro. Curt Thomason and Bro. Benny Price will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted to help offset the funeral cost.
