Mrs. Peggy Jones Ray, age 80, of Spring Place passed away peacefully in her sleep late Saturday evening, May 1, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on August 1, 1940. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jack Ray; son, Michael Ray; parents, C.L. and Ella Tatum Jones; and brother, James Arnold Jones. Peggy is survived by her daughters Deborah Hilley and Jackie (Terry) Edwards of Chatsworth; siblings Ronald D. (Betty) Jones of Dalton; Alice (Mark) Chute and Sharon Jones Miller of Chatsworth; and sister-in-law, Ruth Jones of Dalton. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was a retired school teacher with a lifelong love of reading and learning. In particular, she enjoyed reading and studying in her Bible daily. Peggy attended Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with her brother Arnold and sister Sharon. Peggy loved the Lord Jesus. Peggy took pride in her yard and loved having various blooming plants throughout the year. She enjoyed watching the many species of birds around her backyard feeder.
