Richard Smith, age 72, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. Richard Smith was born July 08, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents: Cleveland Mctory Smith and Sara Jane "Wilson" Smith; son, Mathanial Smith; brothers, Herman Smith and Russell Smith; sisters, Louise Hales and Ester Smith. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith of Dalton; daughter, Michelle and Kelly Cantrell of Dalton and Crystal Smith of Dalton, Sarah and Curtis Barnes of Chatsworth; sisters, Kathleen and Jerry Satterfield of Cohutta, Linda and Steve Neal of McDonough; brothers, JM and Gail Smith of Dalton and Odes and Ann Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Alex, Issac, Lori, Matt, Tamara, Lindsey, Luna, Lily and Summer; great grandchildren, Dawson and Ellijah. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Richard Smith will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Smith and Bro. Randy Postell will be officiation. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
