Robert Ray King Sr., 55, of Dalton passed away peacefully Tuesday November 22nd, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones and friends. Mr. King was preceded in death by his beloved parents Edker King Sr. and Thelma Ramona King of Murray County. Mr. King is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 20 years, Brenda King; sons Robert Ray King II; Hershell Lamar King both of Crandall Ga.; Deborah Gail ( King ) Godfrey of Chatsworth, Ga.; Victoria Abigail King of Dalton, Ga.; Franklin McKinley King and Girlfriend Angela Miller also of Dalton. Brother Eddie E. King, Sister Sandy Goble both of Chatsworth, Ga. Sister in law Darlene King and brother in law Herman Goble of Chatsworth Ga. Niece Kelly King of Crandall Ga.; Nephews Daniel King and David Goble both of Chatsworth Ga. Sister in law Linda Sherwood; Michael Sherwood both of Dalton, Ga. Mother and Father in law Joyce and Lowell Howell Sherwood of Dalton, Ga. 6 grandchildren and great nephews and nieces. His dog Scoobie and Buddy and a beloved cat Flop. An avid hunter and fisherman, who loved spending times on the river and mountains, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. " Fly high, Free bird, you're at peace now." A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 28th, 2016 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery.
