Obituary

Ms. Roberta Crider, 99, of Dalton, Georgia took her Heavenly Flight Tuesday, January 8th, 2019. She died at home surrounded by loved ones. Ms. Crider was born in Bartow County, Cartersville, GA on December 9, 1919 to Eva and Hershel Smith, she was one of 9 children. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Crider was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Eva Smith; daughter, Mary Jo Crider Pratt; son, Rev. Dennis David Crider; brothers, James Smith and Joe Smith; sisters, Margaret Smith, Flora Mae Dunn, Juanita Stephenson, Ethel Stewart, and Flossie Parsons. Ms. Crider is survived by her son, James Wesley Crider of Dalton; son and daughter in law, Wayne and Carol Crider of Dalton; daughter and son in law, Sharon (Shae) and Dave Warren of Dalton; daughter and son in law, Roberta Ann and Bob Dexheimer of Land-O-Lakes, FL; sister and brother in law, Margie and William Millsap of Chatsworth. Ms. Roberta Crider was best known as The Greatest Mother in The World , Best Granny, and Mamaw to 6 children, Mary Jo, Jim, Dennis, Shae, Ann and Wayne; 28 grandchildren, Anita, Skip, Cindy, Jay, Mark, Jessica, Brent, Bryan, Cherie, Herbie, Lloyd, Debbie, Wesley, Jay, Marty, Martain, Nicole, Chrissy, Ryan, Robbie, Michelle, Danelle, Candi, Cadi, Casey and Matthew; 60 great grandchildren and 35 great great grandchildren, with a total of 122. And several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Roberta Crider will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Crider and Rev. Marty Crider officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM on Friday evening and from 12-2 PM on Saturday prior to the service.
