Ronald Edward Sutton age 78, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Born on June 1, 1947, to the late Charlie Sutton and Edna Hackney Sutton, Ron lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to family and community. A proud and devout member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ron served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and was instrumental in founding the church's youth group—roles that reflected his deep commitment to nurturing others in faith. Professionally, he retired from Mohawk Industries where he held the position of director of the dyeing department, earning the respect of colleagues for his leadership and dedication. Ron's love for sports and camaraderie was evident in his many passions. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame, a testament to his skill and sportsmanship. He also enjoyed golfing and was a regular on local bowling leagues. Monthly reunions with fellow North Whitfield High School alumni were a cherished tradition, filled with laughter and memories. Above all, Ron adored his family, especially his grandchildren. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Sutton. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Patti Stone Silver Sutton; his step-son, Anthony Silver; step-daughter, Heather Silver; and two grandchildren, Heath Silver (Fabiola) and Lilli Silver. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 4:30 P.M., from the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Bramblett and Rev. Herman Parker officiating. Interment will be privately held at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the service at Dalton Funeral Home.
