Ronald D. Wilson, age 76, of Athens, TN., formerly of Chatsworth, GA. passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born September 2, 1947 in Calhoun, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Victor and Josie Belle Wilson; his loving wife of 58 years Della "Hammer" Wilson; son, Mitchell Wilson and four brothers, Norman Wilson, Bill Wilson, Clinton Wilson, Jordan Wilson. Pawpaw lived his life for his family. His deep love for his family was evident in how he enjoyed being able to provide for them. Pawpaw loved to bring home sneaky snacks. He was an excellent mechanic. If it was broken, he could fix it, or at least rig it so it would work. He was a diesel mechanic for most of his life. He enjoyed his family and especially fishing with his grandchildren. Pawpaw never grew up, he loved to play, ride roller coasters and tell silly jokes. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He picked Caden up from school and would head straight to McDonald's for a treat. He was interested in anything his grandchildren were doing. He enjoyed the flea market, buying and selling things. He was always on the lookout for a deal. He was member at Fairview Church in Cleveland, TN. He is survived by his son, Trevor (Lori) Wilson, grandchildren, Matthew "Alex" (Kelsey) Wilson, Caden Wilson, Cora Wilson, Grace Wilson. T. J. Wilson, Madilyn Lerch and William Southerland; great grandchildren, Noah Wilson, Carter Wilson, Miles Wilson, Melody Wilson; sister, Betty Campbell; brother, James Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronald D. Wilson will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Garry Holt officiating. Interment will be Chatsworth Heights Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home.
