Rosa Mae Shipman, age 90, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, September 28, 2018. She was born on January 17, 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Shipman; parents, James Franklin Petty and Minnie Johns Petty; sons, Fred Shipman, Leon Shipman and George Shipman. She is survived by her sons, Vernon Shipman of Chattanooga, James Shipman of Dalton, Jerry Lee Shipman of Rossville, Steve Shipman of Dalton; daughters, Rebecca Wells of Dalton, Annie Ruth Shipman of Dalton, Kathleen Jones Chatsworth; granddaughter, Barbara Shipman of Dalton; sister, Janette Johns of Calhoun; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rosa Mae Shipman will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 1, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Prospect Baptist Church.
