Roy Everrett Baggett, age 66, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 18, 1947 in Chatsworth. Roy was a veteran, he served our country in Vietnam where he received a purple heart among other medals. He loved to go fishing. Roy enjoyed being with other people and making them laugh and always ready to help others out. He was a joy to be around and will greatly be missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Henry Baggett; brothers, Hugh Baggett and Randy Baggett; sister, Margaret Thomason. He is survived by his mother, Odell Baggett of Chatsworth, GA; son and daughter in law, Roy and Celeste Baggett of Calhoun, TN; daughters and sons in law, Tina and Timothy Lankford of Athens, TN and Karen and Tony DeFore of Chatsworth, GA; brothers and sister in law, Robert "JR" Baggett of Chatsworth, GA, Darryl Baggett of Chatsworth, GA and William and Diane Baggett of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brother in law, Linda Baggett of Chatsworth, GA, Melissa and David Knipp of Chatsworth, GA, Teresa Elrod of Chatsworth, GA and Pat Seay of Chatsworth, GA; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; special friends who have been like a brother and sister, Bonnie and David "Bones" Cloer of Chatsworth, GA. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Roy Everrett Baggett will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Mohan officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 till 2:00 the hour of the funeral.
