Mr. Roy D. Walston, age 81, of Dalton, GA. passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. He was born on October 19, 1941. He was the owner of Walston Roofing for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Tinny Hawkins and Julian Walston; brothers, Jack and Junior Lee Walston; and sister, Juanita Walston. He is survived by the mother of his children, Ruth Walston; his children, Steven Hawkins (Melissa), Randy Walston (Cindy), Roy Jr. Walston (Tilly), Tony Walston (Lindia), Vickie Womack (Richard), and Tammy Bennett (Heath); brothers, Bobby, Tommy, Carl, and Gary; sisters, Peggy, Connie, Kathy, and Bonnie; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy D. Walston will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dawnville. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Dalton Funeral Home.
