Samuel "Sammy" Carter, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, October 26, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1946. Everyone knows Sammy loved Lookout Mountain where he lived at for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, LC and Doris Carter; brothers, Daniel Carter, Louis Carter, Calvin Carter; and sister, Barbara Gates. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Brinkley; son, Shane Carter; stepchildren, Ricky Maines, Royslene Parker, Tracy Maines, Tony Maines, Timmy Maines, Rita Arnold; brothers and sisters in law, Bobby and Judy Carter, Kenny and Lisa Carter, Junior and Debbie Carter, Benny Carter; sisters, Linda Sims, Karen and Erik Roberson; and grandson, Cody Brinkley. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Samuel "Sammy" Carter will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, November 2, 2020 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Williams officiating.
