Sanford Carl Fowler, age 71, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. He was born on December 18, 1942 in Dalton. Sanford was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Fowler and Vivian Gilbert Fowler; step mother, Josephine Fowler; brother, Donny Fowler; daughter in law, Beth Fowler; grandson, Justin Self; sister in law, Peggy Fowler; brother in laws, Raymond Harris, Jack Gentry, Allen Phillips and Leonard Parker; he is also preceded in death by several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Fowler of Dalton; sons and daughters in law, Sandy and Derinda Fowler of Chatsworth, Danny Fowler of Cohutta, Barry Fowler of Dalton, Johnny and Denice Fowler of Chatsworth, Lee Fowler of Dalton; daughters and son in law, Karla Parr of Chatsworth, Tina and Kevin Pierce of Joliet, IL; brothers and sister in law, Tony Fowler of Ft. Myers, FL, Norman and Darlene Fowler of Chatsworth, Norris Fowler of Chatsworth; sisters and brother in law, Genevie Harris of Tunnel Hill, Evelyn Gentry of Dalton, Sue and Dave Rittenhouse of Chatsworth, Claudine Parker of Chatsworth, Regina Fowler of Chatsworth; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Sanford Carl Fowler will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Gribble and Rev. Keely Hasty officiating. Interment will follow at Boanerges Cemetery in Cleveland, TN. Randy Parker, Dave Rittenhouse, Andy Fowler, Taylor Fowler, Greg Fowler, JR Self, Brian Fowler and Tyler Horne will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 till 9:00 PM on Wednesday evening.
