Shirley Hobbs, age 75, of Dalton, Georgia went to be with Jesus on Monday, November 18, 2019. She was born on May 5, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Thelma Weems and William Arrington; son, Johnny Buttram; daughters, Darlene Brown, Jaime Hobbs; grandchildren, Adam Walden, Blake Walden; and sisters, Sue Holcomb, Mona Arrington, and Carol Arrington. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Billy Hobbs of Dalton; son and daughter in law, Eddie and Margaret Buttram of Sweet Water, TN; sisters and brothers in law, Diane Meadows of Hiram, GA, Debbie and Michael Cruse of Dalton; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley Hobbs will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Green officiating. Interment will be at Varnell Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening. Heath Meadows, Hunter Cruse, Tim Baker, Jeff Robinson, Keith Cruse and Blake Elders will be serving as pallbearers.
