Steve V. Mealer, age 63, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Ctr. He was born on April 22, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Merit and Dorothy Brookshire Mealer; brothers, Charles Mealer and David Quarles; sisters, Trease Morgan and Ethel Mealer. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Steve Jr. and Wuynter Mealer of Dalton, Daniel and Amber Mealer of Ringgold; son, Michael Mealer of Kingsport, VA; brother, Jesse Mealer of Ringgold; sister, Diane Mealer of Dalton, sister and brother in law, Kathy and Morris Gowin of Dalton; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a long time friend and caregiver, Ida Boyd. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Steve Mealer will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Keely Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery, Rocky Face, Ga. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
