With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tony Leroy Roberson, a beloved husband, father, friend, and neighbor, who left us on March 21, 2026, at his residence in Dalton, Georgia. Born on January 21, 1957, in Dalton, Tony lived a life deeply rooted in faith as a Christian, a God-fearing man whose love for family and community shined brightly throughout his years.

Tony’s hands crafted strength and safety as a skilled welder for Local 43, where he was revered for his comprehensive certifications in all forms of welding. His commitment extended beyond the workplace as he was a proud member of the Local 43 Union, embodying the dedication and hard work that defined his character. Even more than his professional achievements, Tony was known as a loving husband and a devoted father, a friend to all, and a wonderful neighbor who always extended a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Virginia Roberson “Susie”, whose partnership was a beacon of support and love. Together they raised a family that reflects Tony’s values and spirit: his son, Tony Dakota Roberson; daughters, Devin Roberson Hall, Caitlan “Caitie” Roberson, and Cassie Roberson Laird. His legacy extends through his grandchildren, Roxann Cimo, Braxten Laird, and Emory Mashburn, who carry forward his warmth and kindness. Tony also leaves behind his brother, Willard (Charlotte) Roberson and sister, Glenda Pack, as well as Brandon Creel, a special nephew, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ora Ray Roberson, and by his brothers, Roger and Terry Roberson, whose memories he held dear.

The family offers their heartfelt gratitude to Heartlite Hospice and to Stephanie, Melissa, and Shelly, whose compassionate care provided comfort during Tony’s final journey.

Those wishing to honor Tony’s memory may visit the Dalton Funeral Home located at 620 S. Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
