Velma "Teddy" Summey, born December 31, 1938, passed away peacefully June 10, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

Teddy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alva Payne; her beloved husband, Gene Summey; her son, Gregory Tucker; her granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Tucker; her brother, W.G. Payne; and her sisters, Eva Ruth Jones, Frankie Lewis, and Jamie Richardson.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Gentry and Darlene and Dean Turner; her sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas anqd Alison Tucker, David and Sue Tucker, and Joseph and Tracy Summey; and her daughter-in-law, Tammy Mathis.She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Sandra Turner, Jennifer Gentry, Steven and Radsamy Turner, Jeremy Gentry, Hayley and Josh Payne, Matthew and Emily Tucker, Lexi and Christopher Benton, Ashley Burnett, and Paige Graviet.

Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Nicholas Ramirez, Coleston Walker, Hanleigh Turner, Nathaniel Nance, Christian Gentry, Riley Turner, Soraya Turner, Maya Turner, Ryker Payne, Leo Payne, Lauren Grace Tucker, Cheyenne McIntyre, Sailor Benton, Shepherd Benton, Sunny Benton, and Brickleigh Graviet.Teddy is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2026 from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour.
