Verla Lou Grooms, 75, of Dalton, GA passed away on September 7, 2021. She was born on July 12, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, D.F. Woodrow Wilson and Irene "McKeehan" Wilson; brothers, Loyd Wilson, Felton Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Verlon Wilson, and Henry Wilson; sisters, Ora Mae King and Mary Lou Farmer. Verla is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack Grooms of Dalton; sons, Jack (Angela) Grooms of Dalton, Marvin (Carol) Grooms of Dalton, Billy (Tyra) Grooms of Dalton; daughters, Linda (Jeff) Greeson of Calhoun, Stephanie Wilson of Tunnel Hill, Debbie (Junior) Carter of Dalton; brothers, Bruce (Darlene) Wilson of Dalton and Woodrow (Debbie) Wilson of Dalton; sister, Martha Gowin of Dalton; sister-in-law, Janie Wilson; and sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Verla Lou Grooms will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 4:00 PM at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Ray and Pastor D.F. Wilson will be officiating. Interment will be at Colonial Hill Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 12:00-4:00 PM.
