Mrs. Virginia Walker Minter, age 91, of LaFayette, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was born on August 2, 1925. Virginia loved Jesus with her entire heart. She also loved and was proud of her family. She was without a doubt the sweetest woman ever known. She was an encourager, taking the time to tell people how wonderful that she thought they were. She liked to write people letters and notes of thanks and encouragement. The family will miss her, but we know she is delighting in Heaven right now. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Lillis Walker; and a daughter, Glenda Minter Salmon. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Byron Minter of LaFayette, GA; sons and daughters in law, Barry and Dianne Minter of Chatsworth, GA, Terry and Kathy Minter of Dallas, TX, Frankie and Kay Minter of Powder Springs, GA; daughters and sons in law, Joy and Jock Ellis of Cumming, GA, Wanda Minter of LaFayette, GA, Cindy Minter and David Perry of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Ty Hutcheson, Chad and Donna Hutcheson, Scott and Melissa Minter, Cazden and Camie Minter, Landyn and Alisa Minter, Jessika and Shane Dearing, Molly Ellis and Russ Denney, John and Crystal Ellis; great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Cody Hutcheson, Cannon and Callie Hutcheson, Leah and Laura Minter, Whit, Nealie, Hattie, and Augie Minter; Dustin, Colin and Conner Dearing. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Virginia Walker Minter will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Billy Adams, Pastor Edwin Puckett and Brother Ben Walker officiating. Interment will be at Canton National Cemetery. Ty Hutcheson, Scott Minter, Chad Hutcheson, Cazden Minter, John Ellis, and Stephen Parrish will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the hour of service on Wednesday.
