Wanda Weaver Hughes, age 59, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019. She was born on August 12, 1959. Wanda loved to work outside in her flower garden. She was known by the neighborhood kids as Granny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hughes; parents, Cecil and Ollie Mae Weaver; and a sister, Darlene Renea Muse. She is survived by her sisters and brother in law, Kathy Weaver Hall of Calhoun, Lillie and Jeff Weaver of Dalton; nieces and their spouses, Leslie and Terry Renfro, Melinda and Andrew Spires, Cassie and Fred Johnson, Christie and Gerald Postin; nephew, Andrew Muse who is a Marine in Japan; great nieces and nephews, Lexi, Amaya, Malachi, Maliyah, Skyler, Caleb, Raeleighn, Brancyn, Jason, Nicholas; special great niece, Annaleigh Spires; her pets she loved, Dan, Buddy, Moon Pie, Razzle Dazzle; and several other family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Wanda Hughes will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Sterling officiating. Interment will follow at Skidmore Cemetery in Dalton. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Friday evening. Andrew Spires, Terry Renfro, Skyler Spires, Jeffery Stephens, Malachi Renfro, Caleb Spires will be serving as pallbearers. And Andrew Muse serving as honorary pallbearer.
