Wanda Gail Minter, of Hixson, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at age 64. She was born November 24, 1958. She was a ray of sunshine and an encouragement to others her whole life. She worked to put herself through college and was a teacher for 25 years. She helped many children become readers and fed many children who would have gone hungry. She loved dogs, and had many beloved furry family members over the years. Wanda was the funniest person most of us have ever met, and also the kindest. She had a moral compass that was unshakable and she would never do something she considered wrong. Wanda's health had been deteriorating for some time, and her family are very grateful to her team of doctors. Wanda loved the beach, the color yellow, Agatha Christie mysteries, teaching children, and her family. Her loss is a devastating blow, yet at the same time, we are thankful that now she is well and made whole. Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Virginia Minter. She is survived by her father, Byron Minter, her siblings Barry Minter (Dianne), Terry Minter (Kathy), Joy Ellis (Jock), and Cindy Minter (David), as well as nieces and nephews Honorable Scott Minter (Melissa), Cazden Minter (Camie), Landyn Minter, Ty Hutcheson, Chad Hutcheson (Donna), Molly Ellis (Russ Denney), John Ellis IV (Crystal), Jessika Dearing (Shane); great nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Hutcheson, Cannon Hutcheson, Leah Minter, Laura Minter, Whit Minter, Nealie Minter, Hattie Minter, Augie Minter, Dustin Dearing, Colin Dearing, Conner Dearing, and Walter Denney. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 3-5 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in the Ballroom at the Mayor's Mansion, 801 Vine St. Chattanooga, TN 37403.
