William Alvin Barnett, age 70, of Dalton, Ga. passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born February 11, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry "Ford" Barnett; brother-in-laws, Mike Swope, Edward Couch; and Grandma, Jessie Mae Barnett. He is survived by his mother, Syble May "Bullard" Barnett; sons, Kevin (LeAnne) Barnett of Chatsworth, Lee (Ashley) Barnett of Dalton; daughters, Heather (Alan) Stancill of Dalton, Kristy (Joe) Hammonds of Chatsworth; brothers, David (Linda) Barnett, Jerry (Lori) Barnett, Lamar (Kathy) Barnett; sisters, Judy Couch, Bobbie (Bardy) Heath, Joice Swope; grandchildren, Alex Shelton, Marcus Barnett, Levi and Leland Hammonds, Aubree Baylee and Jackson Barnett, Olivia Stancill; special friends, April, Parr, Barbara Bagget and several nieces and nephews. William was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the serene pastime of fishing, the thunderous excitement of NASCAR racing, and, above all, the warmth of spending cherished moments with his beloved family. Whether he was casting his line into the calm waters of a favorite lake, cheering passionately for his preferred racing team, or sharing laughter and stories with his family, William's life was a testament to the beauty of finding happiness in the everyday experiences that mattered most. His love for fishing, racing, and family created a tapestry of memories that will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The Family would like to give a special thanks to Renee Barnett for being at the hospital and bringing Marcus and Alex Barnett to show support for the family. We also give special thanks to LeAnne Barnett for going way beyond what she had to do. She has been like an angel sent from God to our family. She helped with Grandma, she helped calming things down, she helped with the hard questions, she was there for everyone and was available at night as well. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. William Alvin Barnett will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Whitfield Place Apartments, Community Room. 1320 Winton Dr, Dalton, GA 30720.
