Willie Clyde McDaris, age 83, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. He was born on May 18, 1931 in Bradley County, Tennessee to the late James Oscar McDaris and Nora Carroll McDaris. Clyde enjoyed spending time with his family, he also enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby McDaris; sister, Lois Ezell; and a granddaughter, Trista Fay McDaris. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mildred Presley McDaris of Rocky Face; sons and daughters-in-law, Clay and Lisa McDaris of Rocky Face, Jim and Rita McDaris of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammie and Craig Delaney of Ringgold, Audra and Tom Duffy of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Bill Sloan of Dalton, Joan and Carlie Ponders of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Cheyenne Gibson, Aja Gibson, Jayme Duffy, Dylan Duffy, Nathan McDaris, Matthew McDaris, Derek Delaney, Candace Delaney, Marisa Songer, Sylvia McDaris; great grandchildren, Star Songer, Kaylee Songer, Braxton Songer, Bryce McDaris, Abigail McDaris, Cadance Kellerhals, Monique Nicole. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Willie Clyde McDaris will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Chandler officiating. Military honors will follow the service. Interment will be at Dunagan Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Church of God of Prophecy in Tunnel Hill.
